Influence

Jackiellen is a senior at Maine College of Art majoring in Textile and Fashion Design. As a native of Maine, she looks consistently to the lush nature the state provides for inspiration. Raised by a divorced single mother, Jackiellen focuses specifically on the empowerment of women. In her recent work, she has combined memories of trauma from her father with theatrical elements of ceremony to create a therapeutic process of making garments.

Jackiellen has attended Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Parsons School of Design, and has volunteered her time with Jill McGowan, attending the Coterie Trade Show. She has taken up internships at Leota, Quince & Co. and Gathering of Stitches. She currently works on commission for Wallace James Clothing Co. in her free time.
